Dynamic solo saxophonist who plays a unique mix of jazz, pop, funk, & blues along with backing tracks. His mission is to bring music to people around the globe as the traveling sax man.

BIO

Stephen Sylvia is originally from a musical family in Rhode Island. He started playing the sax at the age of 10. He has played in bands in Southern California, and throughout Arizona. His band, The San Diego Beat Organization, was runner up to the Jason Mraz band in the San Diego Band of the Year awards. He has played in straight ahead, & contemporary jazz bands, a big band, funk, blues, ska, and pop genres.

Stephen is an experienced saxophonist known for his energetic, powerful saxophone style which gets people to the dance floor, but he also brings high emotions and excitement to the events when performing romantic love songs.

Stephen plays three saxophones; soprano, alto, & tenor.  He has played at cocktail parties, weddings, restaurants, bars, private parties, and corporate gigs. Some of his influences include; David Sanborn, Eric Marienthal‎, Jr Walker, Grover Washington Jr, Warren Hill, Tom Scott and Gerald Albright.
 
Extraordinarily versatile with his repertoire, providing background music for his solo performance or improvises alongside a DJ using his knowledge and training from jazz music.
Available for live performances, including cocktail hours, corporate events, and private gatherings."

Stephen was such an incredible addition to our Open House/40th Anniversary Party. He was so accommodating and let us know what would work best for our space. He confirmed prior to the event, came early for set up & had the music going just as guests started arriving. Everyone commented on him and the great music he was playing. I had Steve play the reception of my wedding, about an hour into the party as a total surprise to my 250 guests. HE WAS A HIT! Steve seamlessly added himself to the center of the dance floor for his cue and he smashed it. He took on our international flare of Spanish, French and Arabic so well and vibed with the DJ. All anyone has brought up the week after the wedding has been my dress and the saxophone player… so it was a major success. I’m sure we’ve just started a trend and I’m hoping we can use him in the future!
